The Dry Mix Pantry Cookbook: The Tools You'll Actually Use
If you've picked up one of my Dry Mix Pantry Cookbooks, you already know the hardest part usually isn't the mixing, it's figuring out what to put everything in. So here are a few things I have found extremely helpful for stocking your pantry with your favorite home made mixes. These are worth having on hand: the jars, the tools that save real time, a couple of nice-to-haves, and the everyday cookware you may even already own.

Jars:
16 oz wide-mouth pint mason jars, 12-pack — The workhorse. Nearly every recipe in this book portions into one. A 12-pack is exactly one full Master Mix. ($26.69, 4.7★)
8 oz half-pint wide-mouth jars, 6-pack — Used only for Master Mix 16 (Herb & Dip Powder), which portions at 1/3 cup. Six is plenty. ($19.99, 4.7★)
1-gallon wide-mouth glass jar, 2-pack — For the Bulk Tub method. Every Master Mix in this book fits inside one with room left to shake. ($33.24, 4.7★, 7.8K+ ratings)
Wide-mouth plastic storage caps, 16-pack — The two-piece canning lids that ship with mason jars work, but they're fussy for daily use and the rings can rust. One-piece plastic caps are worth the few dollars. ($9.99, 4.7★, 9K+ ratings — the actual bestseller in this category)
Buy wide-mouth, not regular mouth, across the board — a funnel needs to sit flat so a measuring cup can to go straight in.
Tools That Save You Time:
Wide-mouth metal canning funnel — The best few dollars on this list. Choose metal over plastic; plastic builds static and powder clings to it. ($8.49, 4.8★, Amazon Overall Pick)
Stainless steel flour sifter, hand-crank — Sift protein powder and cocoa before whisking, or you'll get dry pockets that never dissolve. ($17.09, 4.6★, 12K+ ratings)
Stainless steel measuring cups & spoons set — One set covers both needs: nesting cups at 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, and 3/4 cup, plus spoons down to 1/8 teaspoon (many sets stop at 1/4 tsp — this one doesn't). ($14.39, 4.8★, Amazon Best Seller, 7.5K+ ratings)
8-quart stainless steel mixing bowl set — A Master Mix runs four to nine cups before whisking; a regular bowl means chasing oats across the counter. ($34.99, 4.6★)
Glass Mixing Bowl option - such a cute option for a kitchen staple ($69.99, 4.2★)
12-inch stainless balloon whisk — For a batch this size, a whisk blends far better than a spoon — and even blending is what keeps every scoop consistent. ($10.13, 4.8★)
Removable waterproof label stickers, 1000-pack — Write the recipe name, the fill date, and the liquid you'll add. Pair with any oil-resistant marker (a Sharpie works fine). ($9.99, 4.7★, Amazon Overall Pick)
“Nice to Have” Items:
Digital kitchen scale — Protein powder scoops vary a lot between brands. Weighing to the gram makes every macro exact rather than close. ($12.59, 4.7★, 118K+ ratings — the Amazon bestseller here, by far)
Electric Mason Jar Vacuum Sealer Kit with One Touch Auto-Pause — Pushes jars toward the long end of the shelf-life range. Worth it if you batch far ahead. ($28.99, 4.4★)
Oxygen absorber packets, 500cc — A cheaper alternative to a vacuum sealer for the same shelf-life boost, individually packaged for freshness. ($13.98, 4.7★)
Wire Extra Fine Mesh Seive/Strainer - Helpful for avoiding clumps when mixing ($9.99, 4.6★)
Flour Storage Containers -keep your bulk flour fresh for longer ($39.99, 4.4★)
For Cooking, Not for Storing
You likely have all of these already — I’ve listed them here so nothing surprises you mid-recipe.
Ceramic ramekins, set of 6 — For crumbles and baked oats. ($24.99, 4.8★, 15.9K+ ratings)
Budget option: Ramekins, set of 6, 4 oz ($13.99, 4.8★)Silicone Muffin Pans, 2-Pack Regular 12 Cup & Mini 24 Cup — Because muffins are fun. ($19.99, 4.7★)
9x5 Inch Cast Iron Loaf Pan with Lid, Loaf Pans for Homemade Bread - for baking loafs ($39.99 4.8★, Amazon Basics)
Mini silicone loaf pan, 8-cavity — Also for Chapter 4. ($16.99, 4.8★, Amazon Best Seller)
2-quart stainless steel saucepan with lid — For soups, chowders, and curries. ($22.80, 4.6★)
Large ceramic mug, 16 oz — For mug cakes. ($19.99, 4.8★) - I thought these are SO cute and perfect for mug cakes.
Presto 07061 22-Inch Electric Ceramic Griddle — For pancakes. Sometimes it’s just easier to have a dedicated electric griddle for the job ($69.99, 4.7★, 40K+ ratings, Amazon Overall Pick)
Cuisinart round waffle iron — Only if waffles matter to you (they should). ($30.99, 4.5★, 29K+ ratings, Amazon Overall Pick)
